Friedemann Immer is one of the best known trumpeters in the modern era. During the seventies, he starting specializing in the playing of Baroque Trumpet and has since played with orchestras all over the world, including Concentus Musicus Wien, Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, Academy of Ancient Music Berlin, la Stagione Frankfurt, Academy of Ancient Music London, Boston Baroque, and Aston Magna USA. He has worked with conductors like Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Frans Brüggen, Thomas Hengelbrock, Ton Koopman, Philippe Herreweghe, Marcus Creed, Martin Pearlman, and Hellmuth Rilling.
Friedemann Immer is the leader of the Trompeten Consort Friedemann Immer, which he founded in 1988. This ensemble is best known for performing music for trumpets, timpani and organ. With the other members of this ensemble, many works are published for trumpets and other instruments and singers under the name Edition Immer with Musikverlag Spaeth/Schmid GbR Nagold.
Friedemann Immer is Professor for Baroque Trumpet at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln Germany and at the Royal Music-Academy in Copenhagen, Denmark. In addition, he can be seen giving masterclasses to trumpet players throughout the world. Immer can be heard on more than 200 CDs and many radio and television recordings.
